Saving children's lives remains our goal
More and more mothers fear for the young lives of their starving children!
Haiti, the misery is immense: Political unrest repeatedly shakes the country and erupts violently; destructive natural disasters destroy the little that people painstakingly build up, and now violent gangs also control the streets and towns – the government is powerless, and the inhabitants are at their mercy.
Mothers and their children, in particular, suffer terribly from poverty and fear. Many of them cannot even afford one meal a day. Many children suffer from agonizing deficiency diseases and die.
Often with their last strength and risking their lives, desperate mothers carry their sick and starving children to our rescue clinic "True Hope for Haiti," run by siblings Licia, Lori, and Casey Zachary.
Wherever I look: sick, terribly emaciated children everywhere. Children with huge heads and painful hunger bellies. They lie listlessly in their mothers' arms, staring at us with empty eyes, too weak to walk, cry, or scream. A cruel sight... We are their last chance!
The "True Hope for Haiti" clinic in Cazale is a beacon of hope for the many poor families in the afflicted region and has already saved countless lives: through its nutrition program for dangerously malnourished children, general medicine, pregnancy care, and even minor surgeries – all under the most difficult conditions, with great courage, much care, and much love!
From poverty to destitution: the fate of little Pierre
A brutal gang raids the boy's home village in the middle of the night. Huts are set on fire, neighbors murdered. At great risk to their lives, Pierre's parents pack him and his two siblings and flee in the darkness to another village. From poverty to absolute destitution: Here they barely get enough to eat, which particularly affects Pierre. When he develops diarrhea, cough, and fever, Pierre's mother brings her little one to our "True Hope for Haiti" clinic.
More children every day!
Licia Z. immediately sees: Pierre is malnourished. The tiny boy barely moves, his belly swollen from hunger edema. A frighteningly common sight in Haiti.
With stabilizing medication and the nutritious "Medika Mamba," we save Pierre's life.
Therapeutic food, medicine, and bandages urgently needed!
Every day, the shelves with medicines, bandages, and therapeutic food empty. Our team fights for every child, but it can only do so with your support.
Will you help ensure that the children of Haiti can continue to receive treatment?
